Piano Lessons for Seniors in Las Vegas — Music That Keeps the Mind Young, with Dr. Maria

It is never too late to learn the piano — and few activities give back more. I teach seniors with patience, warmth, and encouragement, at a comfortable pace that makes every lesson a pleasure, drawing on decades of teaching and conservatory training to make it feel effortless and rewarding.

Playing keeps the brain active in a way few hobbies can — memory, hand coordination, reading, and listening all at once, with the fingertips in constant partnership with the brain. The research is encouraging: regular musical activity in older adults is linked to better memory and a meaningfully lower risk of cognitive decline, and some studies suggest even taking up piano later in life may support brain health. Beyond the science, playing brings connection, purpose, and pure joy — and with me, it's guided gently, at your pace, so you simply enjoy it.

A patient, supportive teacher and a relaxed, pressure-free pace. Enjoyable practice that exercises memory and coordination. And the deep satisfaction of finally learning the music you've always loved — in person in Las Vegas or online from home, always one-on-one with me. (Piano lessons support general wellbeing and brain health but are not a medical treatment.)

What you get:

Questions we hear from Las Vegas families

  • “Are my hands too stiff?” We start gently, with comfortable posture and warm-ups, and go at your pace.
  • “Will I remember it?” Short pieces, repetition and a clear plan for the week.
  • “I want to play for my grandchildren.” You can learn songs to share with family, and holiday music too.
  • “I always wanted to learn and never had the chance.” Now is the time. If you played years ago, it comes back faster than you expect.
